HUTCHINSON & HARLOW SCHOOLS TEAM CHALLENGE
The Armidale Triathlon Club held their sixth Hutchinson & Harlow School’s challenge on Sunday.
Twenty Nine teams of three competed on the day making it a great spectacle. Defending Champions, Ben Venue took out the Primary schools race with their Pink Panthers team eventually running down a game St. Mary’s team. St. Mary’s did really well to lead going into the 1km run, however, they could not quite hold on.
It was great to see eighteen teams representing six schools in the primary event.
The Junior & Senior High School’s race was run over the normal short course distance of 200m swim, 10km bike and 2.2km run.
The “Confused” team from TAS won the Senior’s high school race with a blistering time of 28.25.01. By winning this, they pick up the Dave Robins Perpetual trophy.
The Duval All stars were too good in the Junior High School’s as they were able to hold off the Meercats team from O’Connor.
Thanks to a our loyal sponsors, Hutchison & Harlow who have been long time supporters of Triathlons in Armidale. Also thanks to everyone who helped out with the BBQ, set up and running of the day.
Most of all, well done to the parents and kids who came along to enjoy the morning. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next Triathlon on Sunday 1st December in two week’s time.
Pete Haynes.
